1989 Firefox Trans Am GTA Driving Impression, High Performance Pontiac Magazine, October 1989

ADMIN Note: October 1989 was a busy month for High Performance Pontiac Magazine, with some 5 articles pertaining to 3rdGen Firebirds that month. This is not an article so much, as it is actually an editorial driving impression from George Ellis after driving the now-infamous ’89 Firefox GTA. As far as I can tell, there was never a proper test done on this car: this editorial from Pontiac’s 1989 press junket for HPP, and a quasi-test among several late-model performance cars for Car Craft magazine are the only mentions of the car I’ve ever seen in print.

Mr. Ellis’s editorial, however, is quite telling as to the car’s performance capabilities…
