The postcard for 1988 borrowed heavily from Pontiac’s television advertising theme that year; late nights, wet streets, shiny objects, cool people out and about… it was even printed on the card itself: “Ride Pontiac Ride”. All their media commercials for ’88 were styled in that vein, so even today it’s somewhat surprising that the GTA was used on the postcard. The GTAs were only featured in fleeting glances in Pontiac’s commercials; a black WS6 Trans Am received the majority of the onscreen time, including a really cool on-road rolling shot down the side of the car. The same Trans Am was featured on that year’s 24 x 36 dealer poster as well.
