ADMIN NOTE: While this article predates the introduction of the GTA by four (4) years, I felt it merited inclusion because of the in-depth, inside look at the Norwood, Ohio assembly plant. This plant was a large part of GTA production for 1987 before being closed by GM in August of 1987. I feel certain that most if not all of the production techniques detailed in the article were also used for the 1987 cars that Norwood produced as well. Perhaps even some of the people named in the article built the 1987 GTAs that came from that plant; it’s certainly possible.
