1988 GTA temp range

So I have searched but have no answer. What should the temp range be on a 1988 GTA with ANALOG gauge?
Wondering if 220 is in the HOT range. Thank you

it normally running a little bit lower than that but close. I have had it running at 220 after running a lot on a warm day.

Re: 1988 GTA temp range

Thanks for the input. I had the car on with a/c on sitting out in the hot south texas sun for about 12 min. or so while wife waited for me. What was I doing, "buying GTA car parts".
What worried me was that is stalled after I moved out in reverse and it took about 5 seconds before it started again. Made it home ok.
Both fans run ok.
i did find some tech info from other posters that are saying that 220 temp seems to be ok.

Re: 1988 GTA temp range

Closed loop is when the computer is reading all of the sensor inputs.
Open loop is when the computer is reading defaults from it's memory/program.
I believe closed loop will kick on at around 140F

195F is when the thermostat opens up (or should).
220F is when the primary fan turns on.
245F is when the secondary fan turns on when the A/C is on.

It's well within the normal operating temp of the engine.
