Hey guys, are these really a must for a T-Roof car ?
It is basically a stock 5 speed car, only driven on weekends and
not driven too hard.......???

Re: GTA Sub Frame Connectors

Not a requirement, but it will help with body flex and twisting. Most noticeable when you are pulling into the driveway on an angle and part of the car is half over the lip of the curb.

It can help with preventing leaky t-roofs as well.

I don't know too much about these connectors but I can say that if you are just driving a stock car and not too hard, as you indicated, I doubt you would need to go through all the troubles putting these on your car.

I've only really seen pix of them on cars that people bring to the track and such.

Re: GTA Sub Frame Connectors

I have a factory T-top car. It creaked and groaned going over angled driveways like Merc said. I installed UMI SFC. I honestly cannot tell a difference in the creaks and groans, but the car rides a little rougher than before. I think the flexibility pre-SFC smoothed out the ride to some degree. But, I also added poly bushings and UMI lower control arms/panhard bar around the same time as the SFC. So, it is hard to tell what component actually affected the ride. The handling has improved, due to these added components. I can't tell you which component made the most handling improvement because I did not evaluate the ride after each installation. I did them all in the same week and did not have a chance to drive the car much in between. One advantage of the SFC: more locations to place a floor jack under!

Re: GTA Sub Frame Connectors

Don't mess with the bolt in versions. Weld a set in and you'll notice a difference. A lot more work but worth the effort.

The difference was night and day....

Mine are welded in. Rides like it is on rails. Great on a smooth road, very stable. Rides like a tank on bumpy roads, though.

Re: GTA Sub Frame Connectors

Weld in are the best and this should be the 1st thing done to these cars.
