I remember those days. When I first got my GTA I was only 17 and if I remeber correctly I was paying over $2000/year. Now 10 years later I'm only paying aroung $600/year. Most insurance companies don't seem to be very kind to teenagers in sports cars haha.

In the 80s I had the TA and my mom wrecked 3 cars in 6 months and Dad had high risk insurance for the family from Progressive. $5000.00 every 6 mo. Thats why I got rid of the car. Dad was willing to keep it but it was killing him financially and I couldn't do that to him. I never had a ticket in it, etc. I then bought a 57 chevy with 70K miles on it. Dad always said the only thing progressive about Progressive was their rates. They were the only company that would insure the family. That why I bought this car now. I can have the car with low rates and have it back. I only had my TA for a year in 86-87. Ordered it from the factory back then. Dad worked for GM. I took off the red tape stripe around the ground effects and it looked so hot. then they started making the GTAs and I cried FOUL since they copied my look (just like the story about how the GTA came to existence... people loved the look) I just hated the gold rims... thats why I got the formula rims to put on it this summer.. ok I am done

Re: Wtf

Yes, I think what we are going to look at is getting collector car insurance on it. Instead of myself being the main driver on it, my mom or my dad will. Do you have to have the car appraised to get the collector insuarance? If so, how much does that cost? I will be getting classic vehicle plates for it as well asap so I dont have to worry about smog testing or inspections...

Re: Wtf

I didn't. I took photos and told them what all I'd done to the car. They didn't even question it. State Farm FTW!
