Re: 92 Jade GTA

According to the US figures, 18 GTAs finished in the Code 18 Dark Jade Gray (Dark Bright Teal) were built that last year.... Canadian and export totals would be separate from that number.

Re: 92 Jade GTA

Sorry for the confusion. I listed both names for the color as I have seen it referred to by both names in different publications.

The factory order sheet refers to Code 18 as Dark Jade Gray Metallic for 1992.

The Code 37 is listed as Dark Aqua Metallic.

I need to adjust my references accordingly.

Froste31, are you referring to the car in your sig? If so, its a convertible so the GTA production numbers for that particular color wouldnt apply.

Those '92 Yellow cars are sharp, but that Dark Jade Gray Metallic GTA that Alex over at Trans AmGTA.com has is a damn fine looking car. I'd love to see one in that color in person.

Re: 92 Jade GTA

Yes I really like both colors.. I did have a yellow on a couple of years back however I sold... I did pick up this vert not to long ago and when I picked it up it turned out a lot better then I thought and stated.. I had never seen the color in person and with the Tan interior and top it really stands out.. Its funny though most people dont know what it is and think it is a new style car..

The GTA here is in ok shape.. it was on a dealer lot for a long time and it sold a few months back.. I found it again but now of course the owner has one of the rearest cars on earth and worth millions

I tried to tell him there really arent a lot of 3rd gen people kncoking down his door to buy it but that conversation didnt go well..

Guess I gotta wait

Speaking of Alex, he had mentioned on a few forums that his car might be for sale. It is a '92 GTA in Jade. It has a lot of miles on it, though the pictures don't really show it.

Didn't know that, but then I don't follow much online very closely anymore. Bless his heart, just about everything he's had has been for sale at some point in recent years. I knew his car had some miles on it.... but the color is outstanding. The unique color, the T-tops, man, that would be a cruising machine.

Frankie, that was last month. I recall it had over 225K miles, but the pictures sure didn't show it. Engine bay was clean as was the rest of the car. But it appears he may just put it in long-term storage. I do recall him going through this a few times. Being a 1992 GTA, in jade, with the SLP add-on package, I think it's a nice car.

Re: 92 Jade GTA

I was lucky to see his (Alex's) car up close.
At a Trans Am show up in Northern California.
We just took my girlfriend's '91 Firebird with the Sport Appearance Package to that show.
I don't remember if he placed or not.

Also good luck finding any GTA from 92! I came across mine 8 years ago not knowing anything about it at all!

Re: 92 Jade GTA

Yep,
The W68 option.
For third gens, it made the car appear to be a Trans Am, minus a few details, like engine, vents on the hood like a Trans Am, and the rear spoiler, as well as the 16 inch wheels.
On fourth gens, it added to the aero package.
Tell Kristin "Hi" from me.
I haven't heard from her in awhile.

Re: 92 Jade GTA

U know its kinda strange this subject poped up. I was getting the gta inspected this moring. The young guy that was doing the inspection looked maybe 25. Hes starts talking, asking me about the car. Then he says his father had a green one GTA that is. I was like REALLY!!!!! But heres what really hurt me. I started asking some different questons about the car. He said Im going to be honest. I was some small I barely remember the car!!!!!!
So felling old and worthless I just walked away!!!!!!

Re: 92 Jade GTA

I got my GTA inspected this week too. The kid inspecting it was the the same one as last year. He said he was glad I still had it. I had to watch while he drove it around the parking lot, I do not like other people driving my car!!!
He did say the window tint was to dark but he passed it anyway because he likes my car, Tandy
