GTA article in HPP magazine!

Hey guys,
A while back, I remember Frankie mentioning something about an upcoming article in High Performance Pontiac magazine featuring the GTA. Last night I was at the base exchange when I saw the newest issue . On the right side of the cover I saw " The birth of the GTA" I was like, AWESOME!! I bought it and read the article. It was an interview with Lou Wassel, much like the one that was posted here on the forum by Frankie. It's great how there is an actual 5 page article on our cars! It's awesome to see how it was developed and how it came to be. That issue is a must have for GTA owners. And congrats to Frankie for the honorable mention!!

Re: GTA article in HPP magazine!

just picked up mine today at Autozone. (i was there recycling oil). i liked the article, as well as the others in the magazine. one thing i noticed that i though was odd; on page 51, just below the sail pannel bird picture is this:
Quote:
..other then the cloisonne` emblems and the B2L 5.7L engine, the components to build these cars were allready in the GM parts bin.
is this an error? i thought B2L was the RPO for the accoutrement that went along with the L98 5.7L engine. the sourcepage RPO breakdown lists it as
Quote:
B2L -- Engine Package, 5.7L V8 TPI -- 6,913
what is RPO B2L?

if anyone has any insight i would not mind knowing.

GTA Year: 1988
GTA Engine: 350 TPI Automatic
Re: GTA article in HPP magazine!

As I understand it, B2L was the RPO for the entire package: engine, plus all specifically required equipment.

L98 was the GM RPO for the actual 5.7L engine assembly only.

Both RPOS were on the SPI labels of 5.7L cars.
