Saw another GTA today

Well ... I have been out of town in Hilton Head, South Carolina today and I saw another GTA on the road for the first time in quite awhile. What made this interesting is that the driver was borderline elderly. I mean he had completely gray hair and he was holding on to the steering wheel with both hands. His car was flame red and the paint was slightly faded. He also had mud flaps on the car and these strange chrome trim pieces around the fender wells.

The reason I decide to post this is because this elderly man had a grin on his face from ear to ear. Now this could partly be because he is living in Hilton Head (not too shabby of a place) or it could be that he just loves driving his GTA. I wonder how many of us will be out driving our GTA's when we are old and gray? I must admit, the thought brought a smile to my face

Darrell

Re: Saw another GTA today

I know that when someone looks over at me while I am out driving my GTA and they wave or say "nice GTA" really loud, I smile very much when this happens. So perhaps if you were making it obvious to this guy that the GTA caught your eyes, he may have been smiling for that reason too. But it is nice to every great once in a while, see another GTA out driving. I am always happy to see one. Yumiko

Re: Saw another GTA today

Coming out the door at Lowe's, I could see my car...I thought. "I don't remember parking THAT far away from the door..."

I rounded the big pillar...and saw my car! TWO white GTAs, parked 2 rows apart???

Then, the other one started backing outta it's spot, and headed out. I couldn't get to my car fast enough to catch his attention. I looped the Wal Mart (next door) parking lot, but didn't see it again.

I know of 2 other white GTAs...It wasn't close enough to make out TTA or GTA fender emblems, so I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure it had t-tops though, so it MIGHTA been the TTA in town, but I'm pretty sure that car is down for a heart transplant.

Third white GTA in town? Very possible, but so close to mine? My 89 isn't driving, so I don't count it, as another white GTA in town, since it isn't on the road.
