Pro Am

When I was 12 an older woman who lived down the street owned a car that looked like a trans am but said Pro Am on the side. This was a beatiful car with custom ground effects, hood, wheels, and dual exhaust. Im pretty sure they were made from 88-90 and I heard that choo choo customs in tenn made them. Does anyone know anything about this car? Ive been wanting one since I was a kid and you dont really see them around anymore.

Re: Pro Am

It was a base V8 Firebird that had a ground effects package and different hood put on the car, plus the dash had woodgrain on it. Other than that, nothing special about them.

Re: Pro Am

The only thing I could find was about the GenIV Pro/AM cars off f-body.org. Here's what they said in their FAQ section.

Quote:
F-Body.org
The Pro-Am III Firebird was done by a company in Chattanooga, TN. The cars are base V6 Firebirds with large "Pro-Am III" lettering on the doors. The stock hood got a fiberglass ram air scoop attached to the top (looking the Firehawk/WS6 hood), but it's not functional. It also got side skirts, a dual outlet muffler, a numbered plaque, two-tone paint, chrome 5-spoke 16" wheels (with the original base tires), and different bumper covers.
I would imagine the GenIII cars would be pretty similar. I wish it listed the company that did the conversion. I could have used that information to maybe find some more info on these cars. I hope this helps.
