Split Back seat removal

Anybody got a trick to get the split back seats out of the bird. I just got some really nice seat backs off ebay to complete my interior. Old ones had some sun damage at top. I know it's star pattern, but can't fit a socket to it. So, if anybody has any tricks let me know. If not, I guess I'll just be taking all the trim off back there to try to get a socket in.

Probably a TORX head bolt. Get the correct tools and it is an easy job.

No, I know it's a torx and I have the correct socket. The problem is clearance back there. I didn't know if there's a special tool that will fit without having to take the interior panels out of that side to fit a socket in there.

Re: Split Back seat removal

If your talking about the upper part of the rear seat, the nut on the bottom outer side is I think a 1/2 socket. use an extension if its easier, they also ride on a rod mounted on the tyranny tunnel just pulls off. The bottoms one bolt and pull out.
My 12 year old put mine in last week you can do it.

Re: Split Back seat removal

Thanks guys. I figured it out. I was just being too lazy. I hadn't taken the bottom seat out yet.
