Carpet Color w/ Beechwood Trim ?

Almost ready to pull the trigger on interior stuff. I have a Beechwood trim package ... what is the carpet color.

On Classic Car Parts site they have a "Medium Doeskin", but when you look at the chart it looks like grayish ish ??

Sounds like the color, but ?? Or Cognac ?

Or has any one bought carpet anywhere else ? Advice ?

I have not but if you look at my photo albums you will see the real color. I have the original mats that match so I am positive

Exact same interior trim as mine.

What I am looking for is the name of the carpet color.

Classic Car Industries has choice of Medium Doeskin and Cognac - but the Doeskin looks gray ??

Anyone know the name of the color - ? Beechwood isn't a choice sooo... perhaps a call for samples -

Thanks 1Bad, this was a FL car, so it has some serious sun fade.
Your interior looks great.
I replaced the rear seats cause the tops of the uppers were dry rotten, could put your finger thru them. Bought new ones off Muskoka guy just to clean it up and get by for a while. His seats were amazingly darker than my faded fronts, almost thought they were wrong in color. Also got clean arm rests and a cargo cover. So I am moving along.

My ultimate goal is to get the leather seat covers, new carpet and new sunvisors. Can do it all myself but buying all is about a $2K bill.
Seats $1300, visors $90, carpet- $400, eventually new seat belt webbing.

These are the rear seats I bought, they were dirty, our rug cleaner has a hand tool that worked awesome on cleaning the seats to natural colors. See the fade(mid pic) - its pretty harsh. Also here at the seat covers I'd like to get - leather w/ GTA embroidered.

If you are unsure, by all means ask for a color sample to be sure. Most companies will readily supply you with one. Ask all your questions and compare before you buy.

Yea, your right, a sample to confirm is best. I just thought someone would know the color name since Beechwood trim pak is pretty common. Will do and report back.

Interesting read after I searched Medium Doeskin ... He is saying the Cognac color matches the Beechwood better.

If anyone wants the original equipment floormats with the correct shape, size, and color, there is a company that makes them.

They even have the correct molded shape for the passenger side front. You know, where no normal mats will work. Because there is a big bump for the catalytic converters. And a hole for the feet of the passengers. There are companies that cut the floormats to fit here, but the factory molded them and that is what this company does. They have the correct binding too. Just use your original "GM" squares from your old mats and they will be identical.

The underside is different though, and bettter too. Instead of the smooth foam backing that comes apart and leaves black stuff on the rugs, they have rubber with spikes like 99% of other cars do.

they have colors for all oe carpet colors

They can be bought at the acc site for $150.00 or elsewhere for less.
Rock auto is cheapest I can see. $75.00

You must choose color. Don't go by the color samples on the screen. They are totally different from what you get.

There are 2 tan colors.
Cognac is correct for 1988-1991 (matches oe "Beechwood" color almost perfectly...the cognac is slightly more caramel in color but still closest match I have seen. Actually, the cognac matches the seat leather color. That is how little the difference is. Plus, you can buy carpet from this firm that would match it)
might be right for 87 too, but I don't know.

For 1992 choose medium doeskin (the 1992 color is very different from previous...not a camel color, more of a beige)

There are 2 reds. carmine and flame red. My guess is carmine is correct for firebirds and flame red for camaros.

I have cognac color for my Turbo Trans Am (89 gta beechwood) and it matches closer than anything else I have ever seen.

They can also be bought with logos embroidered but only from some places.

Got the samples, you guys are correct. Middle one #8295, Med Doeskin. Pictures do no justice for the colors.

Now, reading some threads on 3rd gen, ACC - anyboady do the Mass Backing ??

got carpet samples from ACC..

medium doeskin... on my carpet


the one on the left is medium doeskin on top of the original mats that are on top of the original carpet


the thing is.. in one pic it matches carpet in the other it doesnt.. these were shot in the hatch area which gets very little light.. but looking it it carpet to sample it doesnt match. my mats are disintegrating on the backing (and make the carpet black) and now I am thinking about using plastidip on their backs to keep them from getting worse.. thoughts?

Whats up 1 Bad ? I haven't been around for a while, can't see your pics/samples. I still haven't did any interior work yet, was side tracked with my 90 iroc vert last 2 yrs and a boat ... but I still love the GTA. Damn battery is starting to act up. Have it on a maintainer now, anyway surprised you have to do carpets.

The reason I am considering the carpet is that the original mats.. they are disintegrating. the black from the mat backs have fallen as dust into the carpet and stained the original carpet. when I bought the car the owner had plastic on the carpets to keep them nice. I thought it was just a nice touch but as I drove it, the plastic started to come up. I pulled it off. Now I realize why he did that because he wanted the mats to show but not damage carpet. good lesson learned.
