Forgot to answer this one. I replaced the plugs recently. Ones in the engine were the wrong heat range and gap. When I removed them, they were light brown to ashen white in color. If anything, they were indicating running lean. I am also going to remove th eStreet and Performance throttle body spacer. It is difficult to get a good seal on the intake rubber hose. Maybe it is leaking air in to the engine and it would be after the MAF.

Re: hard start and intermittant miss

Well, I am making progress. It barely runs at all. Soon it should quit all together and I will be able to find out what it wants. I removed the Street and Performance spacer, redjusted the TPS and TV cable. Started hard and ran really rough until it warmed up. Then it settled down to a miss. I checked my records and cant find any indication that I replaced the IAT sensor so I will start with that when it arrives. I also have a new AC Delco distributor ignition module on the way. The one in the distributor is an Accel and of all of the ones I have around here, it runs the best with that. Since the module replacement is straight forward, I will do that first. More to follow.

Seriously, it is over priced, considering it can be done by any person in their backyard.

Hell, it is way easier to home make, than my sequential turn signal kits are to install.

I agree I just suck at wiring.

Not a bad price. The IAT sensor , from NAPA, is $22.00 and you have to all the work as well. Too late for me, I already ordered the part. I have the wire loom, etc. so it will be a DIY.

Re: hard start and intermittant miss

Besides, from the looks of the pic, the wire & loom will be AT LEAST twice as long as you need. I only needed 2'-2 1/2' of wiring or so. It doesn't look like it comes with a sensor. So, the cost of that PLUS the cost of the new IAT? I'd be willing to bet, every single one of us here, have 5 feet of wire to use.

besides that Im not interested in using some junk wire for my engine controls. If I was going to make one of these it would be with new wiring.

Re: hard start and intermittant miss

I never said junk wiring.

I have several spools of brand new wire. The same as several owners so. Save some money, and don't buy the over priced commercial stuff.

If I could buy the bare connectors, I could make those for a lot less, and without all the extra wire, you'll hafta hide with that kit.

Re: hard start and intermittant miss

That takes care of the IAT end of the new wires, but I see no connector for the OEM harness end.

Besides, at $11, my bet is, they are doubling thier cost price, at least. Meaning, they cost them, $5.50 or less, at wholesale.

I'd love to step up and help Cliff out. You don't hafta come across as an ass, with your "Im sorry is that too commercial for you? LOL" snide remark.

Maybe EFIconnection has it then?

Isn't that how a business works? So your not for helping out the declining 3rdgen community even to save yourself a bit of a hassle? Interesting.

Re: hard start and intermittant miss

My STS boxes are not for profit, but for fun, believe me! So, profit on helping others out, wasn't a consideration there, nor would it be, on IAT relocation kits. We STILL are in the hole on making the STS, months later. Despite all of the "I want those." Less than half of them have actually bought them.

As for commercial costs...profit is one thing, raping the customer is another.

Re: hard start and intermittant miss

This is a dead end conversation. I quit.

Whats the asking price on one of those STS kits anyway? You can PM it to me if you don't want it advertised.

Re: hard start and intermittant miss

The STS units aren't merely bought and resold. They are a custom designed circuit board, and I solder them 100%, by hand. There are only 8 thru hole components, like the IC chip, capacitors, resistors, on the board, besides the connector, of course.

There is a link in my sig, to the TGO thread about them. I sell them $50 shipped.

Re: hard start and intermittant miss

Yeah...I fixed my sig. It was linked to another forum, which has changed VBB, so it didn't exist any more.
