Hey DJMarch That Radio You Shipped

You wanted a report on the radio so you could rate the ebay seller,

It came through USPS shipping with minimal damage to the box (good thing)
It did power up and unlock (good thing)
No sound or even static (bad thing)
I took it apart, on the main board there are 3 sub boards, one of them had been taken out of the radio and all of the solder connections redone, unfortunately they got solder between the connections of 2 of the trim potentiometers (bad thing)
I was able to clean that away and the radio works fine now

The cassette woud not play at all, just kept ejecting the cassette
I replaced that with a working unit
The face of the radio has what appears to be grey primer on it
I replaced the face with a nicer one

Unfortunatey when you buy used parts that are 23-24 years old and the seller wants to make a buck (YOU EXCLUDED)it's hard to tell what you are going to get

I think you did ok when you purchased this radio for the price

I am actually very happy with the radio that you shipped so promptly!!!

Now I have 3 spare radios for my car, I guess I am a glutton for punishment.

If someone needs/want a working radio please let me know

Again Thanks Don!!!

Thanks Red...If you are happy with it, then I'm happy with the exchange we made. I don't believe you should have any problems selling your radios as they will be hard to come by and I believe more and more owners are switching back to stock OEMs and using their MP3 players instead. Now if you can modify these radios by adding the aux jack for the MP3 players, then you are on to something.

Why drill or change a stock radio when you can just use one of these:

Re: Hey DJMarch That Radio You Shipped

that mp3 transmitter works by sending an FM signal that overpowers any other signal on that channel. Your radio picks it up and voila music. It's not as good quality because it isn't direct into the radio.

I dont think it would be that much of an issue to wire in directly a small mini din into the radio. It will give you a little better quality as it's not being transmitted over FM and will not be subject to any radio interference.

Or why not get one of those cassette adaptors as long as it works on the radio. It's how I used to play my cd walkman tru the cassette player.
