Ttop Soft Tops

I scored these the other day, never heard of them before, had to have them .... LOL.

Dont think I'd drive around w/ them, but they will keep the bugs out when I park in the garage. I usually keep the glass tops/in trunk during the summer in garage.

Pretty neat, and rare, company is out of biz. - these are so so - fit is not great on birds, probably better on camaros.

They would fit the same on a Camaro as a bird.

Would definitely say there rare and I think you have found the perfect use for them. As driving around with them on i'd be worried about them blowing away. Anyways great find!!!

I dumped them, sold for what I paid ... it was an aftermarket novelty thing that didnt take off.

Kinda worthless, cant really drive w/ them and the definately wouldnt keep water out. Fit was bad, gaps and didnt lock in too good. Door windows didnt close right ..... So I sold them off ...

They're in my basement now. I finally tracked down the previous owner. Novelty for sure but rare is the cool factor for me

I would agree to "rare" if it were an option with part code from Pontiac.

Rare due to the fact they are the only known set around. For sure not OEM but the Tram is not OEM & people say they are rare & worth it. I know the soft ttops provide zero for performance or even looks but they are rare.....rare doesn't equal sought afrer.... I'm stuck with them & happy to have them

Just out of curiosity, what were these units designed for, what was the purpose? If the owner wants shade, the factory T-tops had those T-top shade/panels from GM. I've seen pix of them and so I assume T-top cars came with those shade/panels. If the owner wanted the T-tops to be sealed/closed, they would just install the glass T-Top panels. So I'm sort of stumped as to what these fabric T-Tops are for, what their purpose is. I really don't get the concept. The only possibility I can see is if these fabric T-top components are for a car that doesn't have the glass T-tops and this is the substitute.

My assumption on these tops were simply a temporary solution. So maybe you're traveling with luggage & don't have to mess with heavy ttops to pack around or possibly out & just want to throw these on while parked. They collapse and have a bag, so there is a purpose.

I see. There's a custom auto upholstery shop down the road from where I work and they turn stuff like this out every week. Their main business is restoration but they also do customized stuff that individual owners bring in for the shop to produce for them. Almost all these concepts that I see come out of there aren't that great at all and some are just downright a waste of time and materials.

I pictured using them to pop in for quick stops...(much less work than T-top in and out of the bag). Would be nice if they were pop open, like a windshield sunshade, or a small tent.

I did buy them thinking about either reproducing or improving the design. I only have 1 ttop car so I haven't even put them on to see what they're like yet. Been sitting in the box for over a year. Possibly next year I'll get into it more but for sure improvements can be made.
Thought some G body cars could use some as well.
I really don't like glass tops in my hatch, so these could have their time & place.

Not a bad concept. Good to throw in if a quick storm pops up or at a show and it's dusty or just want to display them in use.

Glad you are enjoying them. They are one of a kind things. They didn't fit so good in the Bird.

We should design and build one more item, but only one, to pass around and talk about for the next decade....
