Re: transmission??

First, congrats on the GTA! Next, if it is an AT then it is the 7004r. If it is a manual, if I am not mistaken it is similar to the one that was in the s-10s. As for the headlights, it could be the switch. That is *IF* they do not go down at all, but first check the fuse. Now it is not the switch and you hear them both spin but do not go down then it is probably the gears inside the motors. If so get with Lons @ TDS or www.topdownsolution.com
hth oh and btw, got pics.

Re: transmission??

If its a manual can be a T-5 World Class transmission or a T-5 something or another.

5speed regardless. The world class is a little more resilient but will not hold up against a 350.

Fearthis has got the right way to go for the repair kit if the bushings inside the motors are munched up. It will take about an 30-60 mins each motor to replace if you are doing it slowly and making sure you dont miss anything.
Also be real careful to find the tiny bearing at the bottom of the worm gear. Do not lose this part!

Re: transmission??

Or, if the motors don't turn, but the switch is good, it may be the module on the firewall. Mine went bad and had to be replaced.

Congrats and welcome to the site!! Now we need pics.
