Transmission question

Hi guys, hoping you can offer some thoughts here. New tranny, new torque converter, new tv cable. We've played around with the TV cable quite a bit, here's the deal... It shifts pretty high from 1st to 2nd in terms of rpms. 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th shift perfectly. Here's what's weird I think. Once it warms up the shift from 1st to 2nd gets better and shifts at lower rpm. Is this normal or it there something else in terms of adjustment I should be considering?

Re: Transmission question

I did some additional research, and read about torque converter "leak down". Some say it's normal, some say it's not, some even talk about installing check valves onto tranny cooler lines to prevent it. But the sum of it all is that the torque converter fluid leaks back into the pan, and when it starts cold it lacks fluid and pressure until the fluid is circulated, then it has the proper pressure etc.. Sounds logical, but I'm wondering if it's normal or a symptom of a problem. As I said, this is a rebuilt tranny and new torque converter. Thoughts or input?

Re: Transmission question

I've had the shift problem you describe in winter when it's low on fluid. Never had a leak down problem. Never heard of it before. I would guess a problem but I've been wrong many times before. I'd take it back to the rebuilder. I took mine to a guy that does nothing but 700R4's.
