original gta fs/trade 6500 obo

ive decide to sell my 88 gta in pursuit of an lt or ls car.its all original 116000 miles.very well maintained EVERYTHING WORKS.the car is one of 698 gunmetal metallic/med gray int cars it has the original paint still on it acording to several paint an body people ive had look it over they found absolutely no evidence of a repaint, also according to gm there is a very good possibility the car is one of one produced in 88 the radio control steering wheel was standard equip for gtas only one was made without and this car has the standard trans am wheel so probably 1 of a kind litterally!.l98 auto car power everything including both front seats.mildy modified with stainless shorty headers,tb air foil by hypertech msd street fire coil custom cold air intake, hypertech fan switch and 180 thermostat, jet stage 2 chip and custom trans work car has tubular lower control arms and panhard bar in the rear. borg warner 9 bolt with 327 gears and flawless posi lock up.the car drives like new no rattles or slop new air conditioning compressor, lines, etc the air will run you out of it its so cold!no tears in seats or stains.there are a couple minor cracks in the dash but they still lay flat original radio works as does power antenna.there is only one dent on the car on the drivers door and no rust that ive found car apears to have been recently recoated under neath.glass is all uncracked and factory tinted rear defrost and foglights work well headlights pop up fine also.car has like new tires though the previous owner kept the original gta wheels for his vette.i have the original wrap around wing as well its just peeled and cracked so there is a regular transam wing on it now, every part that has been modified the original pieces have been kept and are in working condition down to the factory vacum lines that i replaced.asking price is 6500.00obo or trade for equal condition lt or ls1 trans am or formula 94 up contact anthony at 9016065803 or 4172742359 or email salem.midnye@yahoo.com please folks dont start critisizing my asking price if you dont think its fair make a counter offer.thats all i heard on t.g.o. otherwise ill be happy to answer any questions you may havethanks

Re: original gta fs/trade 6500 obo

I will leave the price alone but improperly positioned badges are a good sign of a repaint and the SPID sticker would determine whether or not the car came with the steering wheel controls.

Re: original gta fs/trade 6500 obo

if its a repaint its the best ive ever seen ive had 3 resto/paint/body people look at it that have a minimum of 15 years experience and they dont find evidence of it it still has the factory aplied vin stickers on every panel with no overspray on them or the door gvwtags

Appraised value and what you can sell it for are 2 different things.

Re: original gta fs/trade 6500 obo

I see from the few photographs of this car it will be a lot of work to get it back to a good reasonable condition. My estimate would be a reasonable selling price of between $1,500 and $2,500, depending on what the condition of the car is close up and under it inside (rust, worn out parts, condition of the interior, etc.).

If you sell it close to what you are asking of $6,500 I will be happy because this will mean that all these cars are going up in that type of value. Before the mint condition GTAs sell for what we want them to sell for, the daily driver used and messed up GTAs like this one must first start to sell for more than what they are selling for now.

Re: original gta fs/trade 6500 obo

In regards to the non-radio control steering wheel in the 1988 GTA, I think they made between 148 and 250 of them like that. As I am only recollecting from what previously was mentiond on this forum six or eight years ago. It for sure is more than just a few dozens. In regards to American made cars, one of a kind type of cars were 1970s and older. They used to have such cars, but that was a long time ago......1970s and older I would say. Because at that time from what I have read about, buyers had many more choices in the color combinations, engine sizes, etc. For an example, GTAs only had two engine size choices, 5.0 and 5.7. In 1987 in the United States, the only choice that you had if you wanted your GTA with a 5.7 engine, the transmissions would have to be the automatic only. Also the only color of rims offered that GTAs had were the gold and champaign colors only. However, I do not thing the gold tone of "gold" and "champaign" was a choice. I think the two colors was depending on what factory they were manufactured at. My GTA when it was new had the softer champaign colored rims. I still have them in the garage but I also have the regular darker gold colored ones on my GTA now that I purchased separately, since I wanted to have all front rims on my GTA to make rotating the tires easier.

Re: original gta fs/trade 6500 obo

1500 to 2500? yea right. The reason i asked about edit was im now asking 5500 obo because i found the car i want to replace it with. The car drives and rides perfectly. Much better than most of the newer cars ive been in lately.I havent found rust anywhere on it as a matter of fact it looks like its been recorrosion coated underneath in the last few years. No i dont have the original wheels, the previous owner kept them and wont sell them to me.As for the door damage i took a close up pic today. Aside from this section of door that can easily have a patch panel welded in the rest of the body is smooth. The car has a few spots in the paint where it has peeledbut nothing that couldnt be touched up and blended in.As far as numbers of them without radio controls according to production numbers on this page there was only one that came without in 88.Total production 9765 gtas in 88.Number produced with radio control wheels 9764. Seems like simple math to me..As far as worn parts and a ton of time to get into reasonable shape?yumiko dont insult me.the car has 116000 miles and was babied.when i say everything work and is well functioning thats exactly what i mean. Its even got the 10 spoke big aluminum spare with the un used factory provided inflator still in place

Re: original gta fs/trade 6500 obo

I just bought 89 GTA with 80K miles 100% stock, 5.7 Ttops. $3800

Needed minor interior work.

The door is a bummer, that hurts.

Re: original gta fs/trade 6500 obo

LOL my car had the spare tire and tire inflator unused and my car is rough! The price does seem kind of high, Yumiko is just throwing out a real world price.

I have to agree with Yumiko. The value of this car is much closer to 2500.00 than it is to 5500.00.
