Re: LT1 swap?

No. Definitely not just drop it. Do a search on LS1 swap for 3rd gen f body.

Re: LT1 swap?

Why ls1? I'm talking LT1, I know ls is not drop in. I'm talking LT1. Small block Chevy just like the TPI

Re: LT1 swap?

Sorry. I misread it. Good question though. Same advice though. Google it.

Re: LT1 swap?

Yes these are much easier. I have done dozens of these and the factory style mounts fit and headers bolt right up. Just the wiring that makes it anything other than a direct bolt in.

Re: LT1 swap?

Glad to see this thread. There isn't much about this on here but there's a lot of good stuff on the 3rd gen site. Here are two good links I've found. http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/lt...questions.html

http://www.hpsalvage.com/3rdGen.htm

I know a guy with an LT1 out of a 94 camaro with only 9K miles so I'm planning on buying that and doing Hedman shorty hedders and matching y pipe, a cc503 cam, and then tuning it thru madtuner.com. And possibly porting the heads and intake but idk about that one. But I'm so psyched I just wish the $3500 I need would fall into my lap... Lol

Re: LT1 swap?

Make sure you get 918/ls1 springs, the factory lt1 springs cant hold the lift from a bigger cam.
But the cc503 is a great cam.

Re: LT1 swap?

ya im doing the Crane Cams 10308-1 valve spring and retainer kit, comp cams pro magnum roller rocker arms with 1.6 ratio and then trick flow pushrods and guideplates. I could use the input of someone who has done a swap like this though cuz im a bit unsure of other stuff. I've read that the WC T5 trannies can hold the LT1 but it don't think mine is the WC so I cant decide between doing a perf rebuild on this tranny or getting a used T56 from Hawks third gen. and then ill prob get a used rear end from Hawks third gen too, but is that compatible with the original suspension? and what about the driveshaft? do i need a new one and/or is the stock one compatible with the 4th gen rear end? so I'm still unsure on some stuff... but Ive got a long time before i have the money anyway.
