Re: BUSCH Pace GTA...

That is one beautiful car!
I sure would love to add it to my collection.
Anyone want to buy $26,000.00 worth of parts/literature/diecast?

I talked with the owner via email last year about this one.... a really beautiful car. The price then was still FIRM, according to her.

Those are the same door pockets that I have in my 1987 GTA. I think they came like that....but not too sure. In that photograph, they have the owners manual sticking out of it. I will see if I can find a photograph of them in my GTA and post it on here. Yumiko

Re: BUSCH Pace GTA...

Here is a photograph of my GTA that I took recently, you can see the door pockets. I have not seen a 1987 GTA that did not have this type of door pockets.

Re: BUSCH Pace GTA...

Seems like another GM mystery or quality control issue. Perhaps the map pocket doors were installed close to the model changeover from 1987 to 1988 or were placed on export only (non-US) cars. It also seems that Yimiko's door panel color and kick panel carpeting color are considerably darker than mine. (My side panels are the same shade as the seats fabric (62D8 -Camel) and fabric on the door panels.) I believe that the the interior in 1988 is Beechwood, which is a darker tan color than Camel. BTW: My wheels are the original factory champane gold color which match my interior perfectly. Just about all 87's I see have the original factory darker gold wheels. Interesting how these cars are full of GM product /color matches (or mismatches).

Re: BUSCH Pace GTA...

I think that the use of the door map pockets in 1987 had something to do with the level of trim on the car; it's a hunch that I've been unable to validate so far over the years.

Re: BUSCH Pace GTA...

My 87 GTA has the door pockets. Mid year addition/introduction?

I'll look again, but I believe mine was an late 87 build date, not a mid to late 86 build.

Re: BUSCH Pace GTA...

Just looked....Mine was 07/87...July 1987

I'm still suspecting that maybe they were added late in the production run & earlier cars wouldn't have them,

Any other 87 owners wanna chime in with whether or not they have them & their build date? Maybe we can narrow it down some to a month for the change.....Right now, I'm guessing between No.86 & July 87.
