SLP vs AS&M runners

Thinking of picking up some used runners. A guy is offering me $200 for SLP, and $310 for AS&M. Are either of these good deals, and if so is the AS&M really worth the extra money?

SLP Runners - $225.95

SLP Runners Polished - $399.95

AS&M Large Tube Runners - flows 260 cfm per runner, anodized finish, etc...$395.00 + $150.00 for polished

AS&M Siamese Runners - outflow large tube, anodized finish, etc...$450.00 + $150.00 for polished

These are new prices. Both claim 20-25 HP and up to 30 ft lbs. of torque increases.

Nova, if you decide to go with the AS&Ms, if possible, see if yu can borrow them for a trial fit. There have been some issues about AS&Ms quality control in the past, as I've heard about on www.thirdgen.org

I have SLP runners. Haven't put em on yet. Though I will say that I'm a bit disappointed by their craftsmanship as well. They appear to look like they will fit, though I'll have to do some port matching.

SO is the AS&M worth it or not? By the same token, is the extra hundred worth it for siamese over large tubes?

My opinion? I'd rather get the SLP runners. They have the same potential as the AS&Ms, but they require mork work to get to that potential. They're good out of the box, but if you open them up more, they can flow as good as the AS&M units. I'm more interetsed in saving money though, so I don't mind the extra work. But if you just want to bolt on runners without doing any work, go for the AS&Ms.

So it's really up to you to decide which one is worth it. If you can and want to do the extra work, SLPs all the way. If you don't want to do anything, spend th extra $150-$200 on AS&Ms
