Thanks Jamie!

I'm near Asheville now. It's a great place to live. BTW, do you still have your car?

Re: Found a Rare Bird

Hello Darrell:

Great to have you back. I love the car. Two years ago I bought a
'91 Firebird (305/5-speed). The appearance has really grown on me (especially given my wife's '94 firebird).

Anyway, as per your previous comments, life does throw a few curves our way every now and then. Glad to hear that you are centered and doing fine.

Key thing: You are still and always will be a friend.

Best regards,

Gary.

Hey Gary,

It's good to see you're still around. I didn't know that you purchased a '91. The '91 and '92's were so rare I don't think people got to see them enough for the design to really take root. I think the lines are really beautiful on all of the GTA's but our later series really flow nicely all around the entire body design.

As for life throwing curve balls, that is an understatement. My life has been completely transformed to place a better word on it. Once we can learn that we are our own creators and then take responsibility for those creations, our lives can and will change in very profound ways. I decided to release all that was negative in my life both inside and out to now live truly from the heart. It's a very freeing place to express from.

Thanks for the kind words and the friendship.

Darrell

Sounds good man. I will likely be storing the car soon until spring. It's been nice driving it during this beautiful fall here in Western NC.

Re: Found a Rare Bird

Congradulations on your new GTA. Interesting how it looks so much like my GTA in some ways yet also different in some other ways.

Good to see you back Louvers, and with a 92 at that!
My GTA does the same thing, and I was told it is due to the headlight motor needing rebuilt. Sure enough, after being told that, the dr. side started acting up.

Re: Found a Rare Bird

that is a sweet ride, congrats. i always liked the 91/92's better but was afraid to get one in case some idiot ran into me. since they only made them for the two years i'm sure parts are a bit more scarce.

It needs some TLC but overall it's it very nice condition. 53,000 miles and a documented one owner car. I don't know how long I will keep it but for now it has satisfied my itch to pick up another GTA.
Nice car and glad to see you back in the saddle.

Re: Found a Rare Bird

Thanks again for all the kind remarks everyone. The headlight motor makes sense on the parking light issue. Thanks for the help. I will have to add that to my to do list. I'm also thinking the fuel injectors need replacing because they are original. I'm sure that I will be doing more to the car this spring and I'll post some technical questions in the appropriate forum as needed.

BTW ... it's good to be back Patrick. This has always been a great community here. I see a lot of activity has moved to Facebook however.

Darrell, the Facebook page was set up to try and funnel more people over HERE to the web site. That's the reason I tend to be a little more active over there. I keep hoping that will be the case...

Doing great Patrick. I never could have imagined the changes that would be taking place in my life just a short year and a half ago. I divorced my wife of 23 years, sold my business and moved to a state that I've never lived in before. I've created an entirely new life, just got remarried to the true love of my life and I am starting a brand new business. It's been a lot of healing and soul searching my friend but I could not be more grateful for where I am today. How are you and your family doing? I'll have to meet up with some of you Carolina guys one day. Perhaps there will be a show we can all attend next spring.

No problem Frankie. Facebook has a whole different vibe to it. It's cool to see all of the archived images of the history with your cars. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Found a Rare Bird

Great Car and Great Pics! I like the fall type photos with the leaves.

Sometimes I think nature provides the best back drop for car pictures instead of asphalt. I like a bit of contrast.

Glad to hear that things have been on the up and up for you Darrell. My family is doing well. The boys are growing up so fast. Niki and I bought a new house last year so now I have a garage to keep my car in versus sitting out in the weather. I just wish I had it sooner so I could have prevented some of the weather damage while I was gone in 2010. It faded the paint and ruined the clear coat on my roof and further destroyed my aerowing. Not much I can do now though except to get it repaired. Hopefully if all works out, I'll be able to get it done this year while I'm gone. Again, it's good to see you back around.
