Talking Another GTA salvaged and on the road.

Picked here up about 4 years ago, Running condition, but missing a lot of parts, Between salvage, guys parting out, etc, The Car officially hit the road today.

Needs paint and a wing yet, Firebird seats in it, but I have the GTA seats, just need to clean them, assemble and put them in, But it's on the road.

1988 GTA 5.7 w digital dash, last registered in 1993, 113000 km. (plus the 60 I put on it today. What a blast!
I believe the car was originally one of the Pioneer Audio / Red Line Demo cars that toured in the late 80's early 90's

Good Job Andy! Very proud of you to keep the GTA Faith Alive. It's long hard struggle to put them back together but what a personal reward when you do and you take it to a car show!

Re: Another GTA salvaged and on the road.

Thanks all, I will try to get some pics up soon. I have about 2600 into it it right now.

It might be wrong, but I have one thing left really to purchase for the car, prior to paint. I want the highrise camaro wing for the rear deck. I believe it will flow better with the ram-air hood.

Re: Another GTA salvaged and on the road.

Have you considered the standard firebird wing vs the highrise? just another factory alternative that I prefer over the aero wing.

Only difference is that the aero wing actually works (provides downforce) at higher speeds.

Re: Another GTA salvaged and on the road.

I have a mid height wing for it now, I was told it was a high rise wing, and when it showed up I could not ID it for the life of me. Turns out its off a Fiero GT. It looks not bad, just not sure on it.
So going to wait and see, Still like the look of the Highrise.

Re: Another GTA salvaged and on the road.

Sorry to take so long to get back, been screwing around with my truck.

Here's a couple pics of her, still a work in progress, but running pretty good. A little stalling issue I have yet to figure out.

Is that the functional ram air hood? The non-functional I believe the nostrils aren't as large and there are no functional openings to let the air into the engine. I like how it looks on the car.

Re: Another GTA salvaged and on the road.

It's a functional hood, nostrils are too far back for an actual Ram Air, but air flow across the engine and vents out of the open cowl at the back.
