my 91 GTA "Scorpion" update

Hi guys! I know I haven't posted lately, but been pretty busy.
Since I last posted, my GTA has gained the following:
Hypertech cool fan switch
MSD streetfire ignition box
new autocraft gold battery
Ram Air

There will be more, slowly but surely. Stay tuned.

Super nice, still love that '91 Banshee style - it works so well it still doesn't look dated or 20 + years old.

Re: my 91 GTA "Scorpion" update

Car looks good but I hate that hood on the 91-92's.... I'm not hating because your car is very nice, however I wish they just made that hood look better... The main reason is I think they start the scoops too far back where as this bumper extends too long. These hoods look better on the 82-90 bumpers. I really wanted one and searched everywhere for the LT1 style which I have now. But congrats and it does look very nicely done

Re: my 91 GTA "Scorpion" update

I don't think the LT1 style fits the 91-92 body style and vica versa with the LS1 hood. I do think the scoops could start an inch further up, but overall I love the way it looks and I get compliments on it daily, almost every place I go it seems.

P.S. I think the hood scoops can't be made to go further down the hood because of the hood latch being there and needing enough material for it to bolt to.

I'm glad your taking my wisely spoken words as constructive criticism. As for the hood does look good and the car as well. I have a few friends that run that hood as well. Plus the quality of both styles are CRAP!!! Lol, alot goers into fitting it like you did. Mine actually has a slight fit issue where the hood seems almost to flat by the fenders. I have the LT1 on my car now, it took forever for me to find one. It actually took about 2 to 3 years after seeing it to find one to purchase.

I have some pics here, just follow the links

Re: my 91 GTA "Scorpion" update

Yeah, the quality isn't perfect and I still don't have it fitting like I want, but it's pretty close. Needs to move toward the dr. side about 1/8-1/4" and I want to get the front down a little lower to match up with the front clip as it currently sticks up some, but the plastic rad support is in the way on the edges and is already digging into the hood.
I never heard of a 5th ann., is that done by someone or factory?

Re: my 91 GTA "Scorpion" update

It was a dealer package, I have a pic under the 92 Owner pics here of what the stripes once looked like too. I paid almost $800 6 years ago for them to be redone in vinyl for them to fade again in 4 years. Lastly when I got the hood I decided I was going to have them painted. I still have yet to replace the badging on the rocker extensions and a new bumper emblem... I've been lazy and broke besides everything else I have done lol.

I can't find the owners gallery...

I just wished whom ever designed these hoods INSTALLED them on thier own cars!
My hood is slowly wearing itself into place as well. And does yours stick up slightly by the head lights?

Re: my 91 GTA "Scorpion" update

I have that pic I was looking for on that link

WOW! It was in 2003 when I had the Vinyl redone, and I owned it for almost 4 years prior to that. I can't believe it's been that long. I didn't even know about the forum on this site for almost 5 years after the fact....
