custom chip

I want an opinion on who should do me a custom chip. I'd heard about lsracingchips.com, but they seem to be gone and out of business like many of the others out there. How abot PCMforLESS and Alvin Anderson? What are your guys experience with them? Any other options out there?

My mods are as follows:

Accel super ram intake
Accel 58 MM throttle body
24 lb. Ford blue top injectors
160 degree thermostat
Goodyear hi miler hose kit
Flowmaster 3" catback
TB coolant bypass
K&N air filter
Hypertech 53K volt coil, cap and rotor
NGK G power platinum plugs
Taylor spiro pro 8MM plug wires

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Re: custom chip

Have you got new heads or cam?

Alvin can get you in the ballpark. I ordered a chip from him and it's OK, and enough to drive the car but its nowhere near perfect. It isn't as accurate as if you were to datalog modify as needed to keep your BLMs (block learn mode) around 128 through all of the VE tables.

I program chips for my MAF based car, but a guy in my club (doesn't do it anymore) programs for the SD based car. Anyhow...PCMForLess I think they have an option to send out datalog equipment to you for a deposit where they can then get a better picture of what your engine is doing based off the sensors.

But tuning via the narrow band O2 sensor is still not going to be that accurate due to the sensor only being in one exhaust stream and not both.

A WBO2 kit will help get you a proper 14.7:1 for part throttle and 13.0-13.5:1 WOT. Again, to get the best tune done, you need to sit on a dyno with an experienced programmer for a few hours. That and have a good solid running engine.

Thanks merc. No, I still have stock heads and cam for now as I haven't installed the ZZ4 cam yet and don't plan to until next winter.
I completely agree it needs to be datalogged and run on the dyno, the problem is every dyno tuning shop we had in the state would seem to be out of business that can deal with this car and I can't afford to drive to N. carolina and have a dyno tune done by Alvin. I will call them and see about a datalogger to rent from them so I can get a decent tune.
Thanks for the advice.

Re: custom chip

Looks like I'm out of luck on a dyno tune from pcmforless. They no longer dyno tune L98's. Only option I have is mail order.
Anybody know of any dyno shops that can tune still open in Ohio or close???

Re: custom chip

PCM For Less JUST stopped doing dyno tuning for L98 in the last year or so. You can try Zeus Performance and see if they have any recommendations for them. I don't know other than that.

Re: custom chip

Well, I went ahead and ordered a chip from pcmforless as I was really not finding any other options. I'll inform you all on how it runs once I go out and install the super ram and the chip in the next week or two. I've got my fingers crossed Alvin can make it run good with the big TB. I'd hate to have to buy a smaller one.
