Dont know how much material is on the knob. I ground off some of the bottom corner of the plenum. Do a trial fit first, you may not have to do anyy grinding.

Re: I NEED A ECM... Where to BUY?

Another thing to consider, is to obtain a matched set of injectors. Yours have a lot of variance in the impedance, could be mismatched or some are just going bad.

Re: I NEED A ECM... Where to BUY?

OK I was told if the impedance is 18 or higher it could damage the chip,
Now I have one for you GTA Gear Heads I went to check out injectors at the Local Carquest and they carry "Standard Ignition" and for the high grade is $144.00 which seemed reasonable but there is a different part number just for the GTA then for the Trans AM 350 TPI is there a difference between the GTA 350 injectors then the Trans AM 350 tpi???
On the AFPR what about "BBK" that is more in my price range and comes with gaskets

They are the same and Standard Ignition is an aftermarket parts company and they make quality parts as well.

Oh and the ones for the TA and the GTA would be the same.

Yeh That is what I thought but I did not understand why there is a notation and another part number specific for the GTA

Re: I NEED A ECM... Where to BUY?

OK Everone, I have been wondering about fuel injectors for a while, I think anybody thinking about new injectors should take a look at this!!!! it shows injectors on a flow bench in action, you can post this again if you think it would get more attention, just want to get some thoughts on it THANKS
www.corvetteforums.com

OK I guess you hace to navigate to C4 and then to TECH then it has aplace that says injector questions and video......

Put new injectors in, and now......

Well Got my car back together!!!! put Injectors in it and then put an adjustable fuel pressure regulator in it . I now have a good Idle!!! (NO MISS) but now the throttle response does not seem to be as good and instead of starting right away it cranks a couple of times before it starts, I think it is running a little lean now it will even pop on a hard acceleration sometimes. not sure if I made the right choice on the injectors, ot I need to do another adjustment somewhere else...any Ideas

I agree, start with the fuel pressure, should be 42-43 psi with the vacuum line disconnected. Sounds like you may be running a bit lean, make sure you go over your plenum and throttle body gaskets and vacuum lines. As far as the slow starting, I have had my GTA for 10 years and it has always done that. Crank for a few seconds, stop and recrank and she fires right up. Not correct, but that how this one runs. I wont list all of the parts I have changed to try to fix this, but there isnt much left of the original sensors, etc. Hope you resolve it, then maybe I can get mine working right.

Yep, same here. Mine dont fire right off, it spins for hmmm say 5-10 seconds( I guess, never timed it). As long as it dont several minutes to crank I wouldnt worry. Also, that pop could be raw gas exploding outside the tailpipe. So, before you go changin everything look at some of your sp plugs( the ones easxiest to get to) and see if the are blk and sootey or somewhat clean. hth

Stopped by the local Chevy/Pontiac dealer to have the GTA inspected. Got to talking with one of the older techs. He said that the 87 - 88 TPI's had this problem and the fix was to adjust the base idle ( air) setting. This requires removing the foil cover over the idle speed screw. I timed mine and it takes 3-5 seconds to fire up. Feels like a long time, but I guess it really isnt that bad. I am spoiled by my Grand Prix and S-10. They both fire up instantly.

Hmmm, now that you mention it, I think there is a tech article on TGO.

Yea all 3rd gen fbodies kinda do it, actually my gta is like the only one fbody ive ever had that doesnt, one of the first things i noticed about it when I bought it. I turned it over and it started right up. I was like wow. Strange how they are like that.

Re: I NEED A ECM... Where to BUY?

well what is funny is that every since I had the car (a year) it has always fired up instantly even when cold or sitting a month, this is a 1989 with 90,000 miles. since it started missing and I got different diognosis from different shops the injectors were the problem.
now it seems to have a sluggish throttle response, I did advance the timing and that seemed to help, what are the timing specs on these when I disconnect the wire from the ECM to do the timing it still seems to move around a bit , my fuel pressure is at 47lbs I want to check the TPS again to see what it is doing
