Re: Anyone Like Mods'?

It was really good too. Although, I was a little disappointed because I think Yoda could have kicked his butt. It seemed like he just gave up after he fell. Either that or he knew that reinforcements would be soon coming and felt it was wiser to retreat. Damn Palapatine for fighting dirty!

The duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin was pretty damn cool too. Lucas did a very good job with that one and also set the record for longest fight sequence with the two duels. I would have like to see Anakin fuq up Obi-Wan a little more though. All in all, both fights were very well corriagraphed (sp?) and executed on film.

Too bad the OT didn't have duels like the ones from the PT.

Re: Anyone Like Mods'?

I have been a fan for a long time. Although, I don't live it like some of them do. You'll never see me dressed up at a convention. Nope. Never. I didn't even dress up when I went to see EPIII opening night. The most I wore was a t-shirt. There were people there who went all out. I've also been collecting since I was five, so I have a pretty good size collection (enough to fill a 10x10 room and still not have everything out).

Had George Lucas never released Star Wars and made the inovations in story telling and visual effects, we'd not have the movies we have today. Not to mention the revolutions in digital sound through his THX sound system. He really revolutionized the industry and it shows because most visual effects for the high budget movies are don't by his team at Industrial Lights and Magic studios. Let's not forget the numerous theatres and movies that use THX sound either.

I think the most ironic part of it all is the original Star Wars movie was originally supposed to be a "B" flick and not expected to do as well as it did. It is still the highest grossing movie of all time (when you take inflation into account).

My biggest thing is that I think the line Vader gives in EPV at the end of the duel between him and Luke doesn't really have the same impact anymore because we've seen what happened before EPIV with the PT. It is still powerful, but not as mind-blowing as when it originally hit the screen to hear Vader tell Luke...

Vader: Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father.
Luke: He told me enough. He told me you killed him.
Vader: No...I am your father.
Luke: No, that's not possible.
Vader: Search your feelings. You know it to be true.
Luke: No.

I could probably go on and on. I've seen all of these movies thousands of times. The best part of all of this is that David Prowse (in the suit) originally cited something else during the filming. His line was Obi-Wan killed your father. Mark Hamill was the only one on the set that knew what the line really was and acted accordingly. It wasn't until after James Earl Jones was dubbed in did everyone know what the REAL line was that Vader told Luke.

Re: Anyone Like Mods'?

Thanks. I didn't quite get it all. The brake light went off before I could snap the picture. Now if I could only get my odometer working correctly.
