Re: rear brake pads

If Autozone will ship to the UK, Duralast part number MKD413

Or Carbon Metallic number 0413-20

Re: rear brake pads

there are some things you need to know about the rear brakes... I'd get hold of a repair manual

Re: rear brake pads

I believe to get the caliper piston to retract, you have to thread the piston in, I think thats the only trick

Re: rear brake pads

Maybe something is wrong with my GTA, but I was able to push in the caliper cylinder by removing brake fluid reseviour lid. As I use this special clamp to push cylinder in, the brake fluid level slowly rise, so as I push cylinder back into caliper, I would stop and remove some of the brake fluid which was filling back into the reseviour. I am only able to do this on my GTA however. I am not sure if that is becaose my GTA is not working properly or if that is proper procedure. I know on my BMW I have to open up that releave valve on each caliper to release the brake fluid pressure when pushing cylinder back into each caliper. Yumiko

Re: rear brake pads

I was told you have to thread the pistons back in on the rear disc setups... I could have been misinformed....

Re: rear brake pads

Hey Nathan you were misled, or at least for the 91's. I just put ceramic rears on, and there was no screwing in the caliper, simply pushing back in. If you can try to put on ceramic, very little to no dust and clean rims always.
Good luck,
Randy

Re: rear brake pads

So let me get this right. On the 91's you can just push in the caliper and replace the pads? Is that what I am understanding?
