Skull & Crossbones Just returned from SLP Day / Texas

Hello all, I just returned from my journey down state to attent the SLP Customer Appreciation day at the Texas Motorplex. Although there were just a few of us third gens in attendance and even fewer GTA's it was still a blast, in spite of the fact it was so cold. Its unbeleivable how many f-bodies were in one place.

Skull & Crossbones It was a blast.....

They had show car classes and drag racing for all of the following, 3rd & 4th generation Firebird & Camaro's, Impala SS, Grand Prix, Grand Am, Late model Chevrolet pickups & Corvettes. ( basically all vehicles that SLP sells parts for ). Including a burnout contest ( that was killer!!!! )

The Speed channel had a special on American Muscle car that was based on SLP and mostly F-bodies this weekend also. But as usual the thirg-gen exposure was kinda weak. They did have a yellow 92 GTA and a couple of Firehawks.

Yes there were more firehawks than i had ever seen in one place, that was great. But I can say that i did not see any third gen firehawks, and i was hoping to see at least one.

There were maybe 2 OR 3 gta's there. I must say Joe's car is immaculate. One of the cleanest examples I have ever seen of a GTA.

Cool

Thanks Scott, I appreciate it. We work really hard at keeping that black car like she is, and that is tough sometimes since we never trailer her anywhere. She went 890 miles round trip this last time. Its time to get her all cleaned up again, we are doing a indoor benefit show for the Make-A-Wish foundation in a week and a half. Thanks again..... Joe

Glad you had a good time there, Joe.... I saw those photos on the NTTGA website. Looked like the turnout was pretty good by the TX folks. Was Gregg Blakely there with his '91 Z28 1LE? Gregg's probably my best friend in the world, and I hope he brought that car out for the event. It's a real beauty....

Joe's GTA is beyond immaculate. Everytime I think about it.... it makes me want to spit! My black GTA gets trailered everywhere, and it doesn't look anywhere as good as Joe's car does. I suppose a total exterior resto might help in that department... but who has the time? Beggars can't be choosers....
