I looked for months for this car and was lucky to have found it. I recently purchased a Pontiac G8 (#219 of the first 888 made) and am building a 402 stroker for it. I couldn't pass up this deal. My friend owns a hi performance shop and a customer who put a ton of money into the G8 spun a bearing and wiped out the crank so his loss is now my gain and the GTA needs a new home. I only have a ONE car climate controlled Garage lol.

I wasn't going to sell my GTA as i just bought it a few months ago but i am now putting it up.

T-Top '89 5.7 Brilliant red beechwood leather (recovered a month ago) with 68k original miles. i am the third owner. Car is not perfect but extremely clean and well maintained. was repainted in '03 by previous owner.

There is NO RUST/ROT on this car. It has the original hood (vin sticker is there). No accidents of any kind. Has $2000 worth of chrome moly tubular Spohn suspension (control arms, wonderbar, panhard rod, Delrin bushings, etc), new Moog springs, Moog front end, radiator, injectors, fuel lines, water pump, headlight motors, power antenna, window motors, harmonic balancer, welded Spohn subframe connectors, headliner, T-Top inserts, falken tires with 95% tread, polished original wheels, original radio, original overhead console flashlight in working order, spare/jack, T-top bag, cargo cover, original RPO code sticker is in center console where it is supposed to be, ALL EMISSIONS CONTROLS PRESENT AND WORKING, plugs, wires, cap/rotor, fuel filter, air filter, PCV, vacuum lines, build sheet, Pontiac historical services paperwork, ORIGINAL OLD WINDOW STICKER (ugly back then, line printed black and white and is a square as opposed to the rectangle shape of today), battery tender, car cover and a ton of spare parts including 4 fenders, door panel grommets, shifter handles, etc etc. Car is a great driver. solid 8 out of 10 imho.

I will be asking $7200/bo into the car for about $9000 so someone is going to make out like a bandit but i did on my G8 so it'll be a wash . I would've killed for this GTA when i was looking. i couldn't find it.

car gets looks non stop when i'm out and about. compliments, questions, alot of attention. finding them in this condition inside, outside and underneath is rare and cost big $$$. AC blows ice cold, cruise works, car can absolutely be driven form here to florida without an issue. i have taken it on a 90 mile ride and outside of it being an '89 F body (i have all new vehicles so i'm a little spoiled lol), it road and drove terrific. Car has been garage kept since '03 by previous owner and now myself (climate controlled under a cover on a battery tender)

PS, i have the lower black plastic side skirts that conceal the low exhaust pipe just haven't put them back up yet since the suspension work was completed. they're sitting in the shop along with the new backing plates for the rear brakes

I'm looking for a 350 hardtop GTA in good condition. Prefer less than 100k miles but open to right car. Preference in order of color is black-flame red-gunmetal-bright red (but I like all four of them enough to buy). Would love to have a black ext/camel int combo with analog gauges preferred. I have driven 2 in the past 2 weeks, both mis-represented by the sellers. Oh well. Shot an offer on a different one than those 2, but he decided to keep it instead of sell it. It was exactly what I am looking for and not too far. Anyway, I am an hour north of Louisville and an hour south of Indianapolis. Prefer something within a few hours drive time of me. I have cash ready to buy one (although I do have the cash ready, I also have a ceiling on price (yes, I am married)). I wanted one in high school, but no Pontiac dealers near, only Chevy. Had a Camaro instead and have wanted a GTA for the past 25 years. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Today was very nice. I took Sarah out with me in my GTA. We drove along highway 1 between Half Moon Bay and San Francisco. It was a very nice drive. I see that they will nearly be complete with the new tunnel at the Devils slide area. When the tunnel is completed, that section of the highway 1 at Devils slide will be closed to cars. So I wanted to drive it again before it is closed.

Today it reminded me of how a car seat fits in the back of the GTA. It does not fit so nicely. It brought back my memories of in 1993 when I used to babysit my best friends baby daughter and I used to put her car seat in my GTAs back seat also. I recall once more how the car seat does not fit so well in the back seat. Sarah loves to ask questions about simple things and my favorite ones are when she askes them about the car. I love to tell her about so many things and after a while, I realize that she has fallen asleep. Another nice memory to have about my GTA.

They say that he is a prison guard. My husband has friends who are in law enforcement and I mentioned this creep to them and they inform me that a prison guard is a poor job for people in law enforcement. Probably he is on some dissability and since the state is paying, they have him in a very limited type of job within the system to at least get something for their money. It is people like him that give law enforcement a bad name and image.

First off, I'm not a prison guard and I'll let all those poor souls who are know what a worthless job your husband (The Expert) thinks about that job.

Prison guards deal with murders, gang memebers, drug dealers and all sort of criminals keeping them locked up and in line, I know what a worthless job that is; you know keeping the public safe.

The Idiot Leslie Au from Skokie IL, who posts all the nonsense on craigslist never paid me the rest of the money for the two cars he was buying from me. You notice how he makes no mention of the second car at all.
I shipped the convertible from Florida and he's right it wasn't in my drive. It was in my garage all winter long because godd ole Leslie never brought the car cover over he said he was going to.
I gave him 6 months to pay, which he signed a 2 page bill of sale, after 8 months he still hadn't paid or made any more payments. He had enough time and money to buy dolls and action figures for 100's of dollars instead of paying me. He'd call from time to time but always had some excuse about paying me money.
I even suggested he go to a bank a get a loan to pay me, and his reply was that he'd have to pay interest on the loan. Excuse my silly ass.
The best part is this Idiot puts in his craigslist ad that he's in the process of suing me...If he sues me like he pays I have nothing to worry about.
and read his ad, the car he list; most are sold and the owners are happy and driving them.
In closing, that's why I'm a little miffed with Yukimoto posting something that's not true but she'll take some assholes word as fact.

I don't mean to sound full of myself but I don't need to sell Trans Ams and parts, I love Trans Am and GTA's and sell alot of rare cars and parts.
Thanks for listening to my side of the story
Louie Battaglia

and to clarify DD9 complaint, yes I bought 3 sets of red seats, as you know GTA seats in great condition are hard to come by, so I bought 3 sets and made one good set for myself and the convertible GTA I'm building. The guy he was buying them from chose to deal with me because he wanted BLK GTA seats I had and doors and door panels I needed. We traded seats and I paid him for the doors and panels. He brought them to me. I took him to Five Guys for a good burger fries and coke for him traveling, figured it was the least I could do. Nice guy too. The seats Im now selling are what's left that maybe someone else could use. That's why Im selling them, not to get back at DD9.

Got out, lift the hood and sure enough, with the engine not running and the ignition switch on, the left coolant fan was running. Somewhere in the circuit I'm getting 12 volts to the fan as soon as the ignition switch is turned on, bypassing the temp switch. Any recommendations out there on where to start troubleshooting ? A bad relay ? A bad temp switch ? Any recommendations appreciated..

That is a 1989 Pontiac 6000 STE AWD!

So now I am researching in how this AWD system could or would be possibly used in a F-Body or in a Fiero!

Granted I assume it is a FWD platform, the f-body wouldn't be hard to convert for AWD, however if the parts are strong enough....
