Paddle mirrors

I watch this show from time to time called wheeler dealers 2 english guys buy cars and flip them nothing major just interesting to watch. Yesterday I was watching and they actually bought a 84 cross fire vette, and what was so interesting dam thing had paddle mirrors just from looking look just like the ones that go on the GTA does anyone know if they will work or not. Im sure theres a ton of export vetts floating around you might could rob them off of

I have never seen a Vette with those mirrors,
So I am not sure.
They may be an aftermarket thing.

I've read/heard that the paddle mirrors were a common item on F bodies exported to Europe and other countries. Actually saw pics of one in Japan that had them.

All the way up to 1992 vetts I know for sure because I have seen them and I would say all F-bodies to 92? Not sure on that one. I think they are in Australia too somebody used to want to trade on here for U.S. models. Has anybody ever checked for a vette part number for paddle mirrors? I would trade U.S. model for Euro cause one day mine are going to get wacked off I would guess, I 'I've almost knocked em off in the garage a couple of times.

All Euro exports had the paddle mirrors (I live in Europe) and funny enough on this side of the pond most people don't like 'em so they rather have the US spec ones :-)

i think they are changed befor ebeing shipped here from japan or something like that. a lot of people i know who have trans ams or camaro's changed the mirrors to the us spec ones if they had the paddle mirrors

If you post on any of the UK< German, French etc car club forums you will most certanly find someone with a set willing to trade. I used to have a set many years ago I sold to the US.

GTA paddle mirrors are different. Export mirrors are breakaway style.

The GTA mirrors are break away ask how I know. They are spring loaded and will give when hit but they do have a breaking point.
