I've seen Viper, Bull Dog, and way many others installed. There are a few things here in NM to worry about.
1) The more gizmos and special features the less chance of it working properly.
2) the more they charge for instalation only means the longer it will last and the less of your harness they jack up
3) All of them fail and malfunction after 3 yrs or so.
4) cheaper is better! (I have this cheap one that bolts to the battery and a ground and thats it, has motion detector and shock sensor built in)
5) PAS key is the best
6) Don't park your GTA in jeopardy
Mostly important is I have seen these cars get broken into in less than 30 secs, we have a guy that can get in them right away, he says the only thing keeping the newer ones from being stolen are the PAS keys. Don't leave anything in your car someone would want, radio face plate, computers, dvd players, even in some cases clothes and cologne. I had someone once break out my DD's window for a bottle of Tommy cologne!

I am a former technician of 2 1/2 years for bulldog security and I had their top system of the time(deluxe 62) on my old GTA for about 4 years. I never had a bit of problems with it and it always worked great. It had a built in shock sensor and a ton of other features like remote start and I loved it.
Good luck with your decision and if you install it yourslef and need help, feel free to ask me.:)

Thanxz Bud I may need ur help I hav LO-Jack which i track on my BlackBerry and a Viper System but lookin to upgrade the Viper!!!! AND wats wit the VATS guys does it prevent from someone jus breaking the ignition key lock wit a screw driver etc.. and then turning it with the screw driver to start up the engine which is the easiest way to jack a car, the VATS prevents that right???? I pray it does!!!! My friend had a 89 GTA wit VATS and it got jacked here in Albq,NM she got it back stripped out for parts and rims but she said they jus broke the ignition key lock and took it!!! Bastards!!! She heard them trying to start it but she figured they cant take it they dont hav my key wit the chip on it!!!! so she jus called the cops instead of goin outside and blowing their head off wit her shotgun, she wishs she did now!!! Maybe her VATS fuse was blown I dont know!!!

Vats works like this:
Your key has a resistor in it and that resistance gets read by the computer when you insert your key. If it's working properly, it should not allow the car to start without reading that resistance or something within 10% of it. All it will do is crank without the proper ignition key.
