My honest opinion - Preparing a car for sale is like getting ready for your first date. First impressions are always very important. If you plan on getting the most from it then you will need to spend extra time cleaning it up, even when the paint does no justice for the car. As it is in the pictures, sitting there if I was a buyer the most I would offer is about $3K. I honestly say this because it looks very bad as it is in the pictures.
If you plan on putting it in AutoTrader or cars.com by all means clean the engine compartment (specially the leaves) and interior the best you can. Take pictures in a parking lot with no distractions around it. Don't worry about the paint, it is common for that year car to have the paint like that unless if it was always garaged. People who know thirdgens know these things.
A potential buyer will account on spending about $2k to $5K on a real good paint job if he wants to restore the car to a condition where it will not deteriorate further.
So don't just put a "For Sale" sign on it and hope someone will pay what you want. You have to put time into it to make it look like it's worth more, and to show that it was taken care of. You will be amazed of the difference.
