Well, coming into a bit o $$ is always nice...

Now the question is what are the opinions on getting a colour change on a notchback?

The whole car needs to be gone over at a body shop, stripped to metal basically everywhere in order to fix problems with the body.

I was thinking of going to a black colour again but im very tempted to say f*** it and go with a gunmetal colour that I really like and pick up the Ram Air 1 hood (the 93-96 style) since I need a new hood as well.

The car itself is far from original and no longer numbers match at all.

So, value wise, would changing the colour (done properly, door jams, underhood, firewall etc) hurt it when taking into account that it's had a complete interior colour change, PVC headliner, new windshield and rear glass, different exhaust, subframes, different motor, tranny, all upgraded bushings yadda yadda the list goes on and on...

Basically say the car is far from original as possible.

I say go for it. Its your car, and like you said as long as its done right, then go for it. Just be sure and take alot of pics so we can all see the progress.

The underhood is the hardest/most expensive part. Puling the motor, AC box, mater cylinder/brake booster, wiring, lines, etc.

Underbody too? Granted, not needed, but you mentioned complete color change so...

If the $ is there, to make you happy with the results, go for it!

It's your car.... get it painted how you want it to be. I don't think it would affect the value any considering the other modifications and such that you've named here. Plus, if it's done well, you can always highlight that fact as well.

If you want it to be Gunmetal, then get after it. It's a beautiful color on GTAs.

Sort of not really, that's what this weekend is...

I've got a new battery for it and a new ignition coil.

It's going to be interesting finding a suitable mount point for it since the edelbrock intake manifold doesn't take into account that the stock location was the rear of the manifold.

Going to install the MSD distributor and goop it up with the lucasoil/moly assembly lube on the gear.

Have to check the #1 wire as it has a slight tear in the outer insulator where my wire loom holds in place. Might had them a little too tight.

Will also be resetting valve lash after i've got the lifters pumped up a bit.

So, i'll be working on that tomorrow during the day and see. Also going to dump the old gas and try some new to see what happens.
