i have a question, did our cars ever have an option for window tint? or did they ever come tinted from the factory?

that sucks cause i got pulled over last month and the cop gave me a ticket for window tint so i went to the court house and they wouldnt let me pay the ticket instead they said i had to remove the tint on the windows, and they said the only way i could keep it was if i could prove that the car came like that from the factory.......... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr my car is black and it looks so good with the tint on the windows i really dont want to take it off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is there a way out of this????

What does the law in your state state? Can you run 35% or none at all? IMO, you need to find that out first. If you can run 35% then take off the old and put the 35 on there and you are good to go. So find out what you can and cant run first,ok.

The only "tint" that F-cars came with was the Soft-Ray tinted glass that was required with the factory air conditioning. I've never seen mention of any other tint offered from the factory.

^ Well, I guess that answers your question. Now, they do have a new tint put thats clear and reflects the heat BUT, I hear its very $$$$$.

Texas just started checking this @ yearly inspections. Cars 1987 and earlier are exempt. I found this out when I took my car in and the guy said my windows were to dark. He had put a light meter on it. He also told me that since I had "such a cool ride" he would pass me anyway. At that point he figured out the car was a 1987 and was exempt. Just more and more stupid government officials getting in our business. When will it stop??? Tandy

well i went to the doc and asked for an excuse to have tint because i get bad head aches and he gave me one, but when i took it to court the states attorny laughed at me and said the excuse would do no good. I have another question, if i have classic car plates doesnt that mean i can have tint? i mean i only drive my car maybe twice a month so i figured why not have classic car plates right?
