Now that it's tax time and I've got my return coming, I decided to do a little upgrading to the GTA this year. :D I've started my suspension upgrade and should have the parts in about a week. WOOHOO! The only bad thing is that I probably won't get to put them on the car until I get back from my trip to Little Rock and Oklahoma. :(

Let's see...what goodies did I get:

1 BMR STB from Hawks Third Gen
1 TDS Steering Brace (Wonder Bar) from Lonsal at TDS
1 Grant steering wheel with Pontiac horn button.

I can't wait to see how my car handles with the front-end all tied together with these new suspension parts. I've heard some really good things about the STBs, but not so much about the Wonder Bars. Also, does anyone know where I can find a larger diameter front and rear sway bar? Lonsal on sells the sizes that we already have on our cars and it isn't going to do me much good.

I'm upgrading the steering wheel because my factory one is toast. The leather wrap is nasty and comes off in my hands, plus I don't have the factory stereo for the car so the stereo controls on the wheel do me absolutely no good. The one thing I'm going to miss though is it makes a good place to put my ID in the mornings as I roll up to the gate for work. Guess I'll have to find someplace else for it. :)

Pics to follow once it's all installed.

About the sway bars. I recall someone on this site (I think it was on this site) that they installed two of the sway bars of the same type. One was right above the other. Personally, it looked horrible to me in the photographs, but.....the person who did it said it made a really big difference and some other people posted and agreed because they did it also. Yumiko

That doesn't even make sense how that could work. There's got to be a bigger sway bar out there. If not, then I'll stick with what I have and maybe upgrade the bushings.

Cliff, as soon as I get them in...I'll post pics for you. I'm really looking forward to this too. I finally feel like I'm getting to start doing stuff I want to do to the car rather than fixing previous owner's abuse. :)

I think I'll pass on the double sway bar thing. I didn't like how all that sounded. It doesn't even sound right. Guess I'll continue my quest for a larger set of sway bars.

I agree, it does look pretty ugly. But those guys said it worked well. The front sway bar is 36MM so it is really hard to find a bigger one than that, unless you have a special one made. Places on the net I have seen that make custom ones, though I bet that will cost a lot to do, always costs so much just making one of something. Perhaps a pickup truck of some kind has a larger front sway bar then 36MM. The back ones are something like 24MM on the GTAs. Yumiko
