Trans Am Nationals-Dayton, Ohio

Spent the week-end in Dayton at the Nationals-the cars were AWESOME as usual. The attendance was way down from last year-approx. high 300s. They were blaming it on the weather and the price of gas. Gas in Ohio is 2.47 for 87 grade & 2.74 for prem. at Shell. Sure as hell beats 2.98 & 3.04 in Pa.
F-Body Motorsports was there, they had some new stuff they were selling & some junk. Didn't see Hawks. That place isn't big on vendors, not like the GM Nationals in Carlisle. The cruise was nice, till it rained around 6:30 for about 45 minutes. Rained lightly on Sunday afternoon for about 15 min. or so.
Didn't win again-they put me into Super Street because I have Nitrous-this event is the Super Bowl of judged shows-competition is really tough.

One the reason that attendance is down is that people are fed up with the judging. I went last year and it was great to see all those birds in one place but the judges have no clue on what they are looking at unless its a 2nd gen. Almost all of the cars that won last year were red. Right there that tells me something.

Dave, that attendance is way down from my last trip in 2002. It'll rain at least one day every single year.... that's a must! Glad you had a good time, though.
