This may seem like a silly question, but are gta's going up in price.? In general are they appreciating in value because they are becoming more and more rare, or are they depreciating still with age? What it comes down to is I am thinking about either putting my 124000 mi stock gta in the garage for two years or selling it.

I'm curious to know this as well. I have a 91 that I have had since 1994. I have been debating on putting more money into it for little things or maybe buying a second car with the money instead.

Not yet. I wouldn't store a 124K mile GTA hoping it will appreciate in a few years. If you're tired of it and want to move on, then move on. Put money into it if you plan to keep it and enjoy it. IMO, the cars that will appreciate or hold their value are the rare or well optioned cars that were stored and pampered from birth. Even the low mileage TTA's still aren't worth what they sold for new.

I disagree. It may have a few miles now, but if stored and pampered for a few years than the miles won't be as much compared to the age of the car. I know around here people are asking a nice price for GTA's in good shape.

If I ever sell mine it won't go for cheap either. My GTA has a Minirammed 383, all the factory options ( still working I might add!), and just got appraised for $35, 400 CDN!

I had my GTA appraise right after restoration project (in 2003) and it valued U.S Dollar $23,000, this without air conditioning working and need new tires put on. Now I got these two problem take care of. But the important thing here is finding someone who is willing to spend that amount of money. Sure $23,000 appraisal but my odd finding someone to pay that much for a car that is not under warrentee or not as high performance as new car, that is the problem. I got appraisal not to sell, but so I could get full coverages insurances - in my area insurance company will not give car that is 15 years or older full coverages. Yumiko
