Hello

I'm thinking about fabrication my own engine stand :)
when I look in summit jegs etc, I cannot imagine how engine is bolted? to the trans mount holes at rear of block?

yeah, the stand is bolted to the trans mounts. Making it yourself may cost close to the price of buying one.

Thanks for reply. You sure about costs, but I live outside USA and it's hard to buy a stand like this :( shipping is too expensive....

Speaking UNETHICALLY.... Nothing makes a better engine stand than a good old fashioned shopping cart....You can borrow one from wherever>>>Not condoneing stealing ask for one from a store where the basket is messed up....I got some messed up basket ones from wal mart for free... I torch the basket off and weld arms onto it...nice stationary stand that rolls....

I also have a Jegs full engine stand...this holds the engine and trans assembly and rolls...it bolts in place where the motor mounts bolt to the block... I bought this for storing engine/trans combos...The shipping on that is CHEAP because essentially its 4 casters and 2 small jigs.. Mine held my 406 and T400 combo flawlessly and allwoied me to roll it wherever I wanted...

I like that idea, do you have any pictures of shopping cart engine stand? Please post, engine on cart stand is even better! I need to show this one to my mechanic friends. Thank you for making my day, I have to laugh now.

I do not think engine stand is that expensive for you to get. I had best one on market (holding up to 1000 pounds) and I purchase it new for $119.00 at a place that is not cheap! After I finished with it, I gave it as a gift to my mechanic friend who helped me out with my GTA engine rebuild. They are not that expensive and also you do not have to spend your time attempting to make one out of stuff. Yumiko
