Hey everyone.... The weather was gorgeous with a whopping 22*C (70 something farenheit), so I couldn't resist. The car is a tad faster, with much better throttle response, no hard starting when it is hot anymore :D , so I must of fixed that in the process of removing all the plenum and runners, getting injectors cleaned and flowmatched, and replacing the MAT sensor.

Did some sweet burnouts, a really awesome 180, almost a 360.. hehe... She gets up to 60MPH pretty quick, at least 6 seconds... ic an't see anymore than that.

It was great driving my baby again....

Nathan, that' so different how the "northerners" have limited times when they can drive.. I am in East Texas and you have 60 degree days pop up all during the winter.. (Though the summers, you don't want to drive because it's too hot).

Anyhow, mine has that hard starting when hot.. I have done everything you did, new MAT, cleaned and flow tested the injectors and all new stuff when I rebuilt it.. I use to start fine hot until I reset the minimum air/idle speed and now I have a 5+ second crank when hot. So my question, you don't have any idea what it was do ya? I am fighting that and an idle that doesn't settle down until I have come to a complete stop, which makes the brakes kinda poor. Wish I could drive another one to compare notes..

I dunno man... all I've done, I listed, except for the performance chip I installed. My idle is nice and low.. like at the most, 600RPM... I love it.. it sounds nice and "lumpy"

Have you done any work to the EGR?

There are three items related to fuel injection that I never replaced 1) EGR (though I did replace the EGR Temp) 2) IAC motor 3) Cold start temp sensor. I asked several people what they thought about that EGR and they all said to give it a whirl. Do you know of anything I could test on that EGR? If not, you mentioning makes me extremely curious. Funny how all three of these could be messing with me!

Well.... I didn't do anything to my EGR except spray some TB Cleaner in it... and tested it by pressing in the diaphragm then holding the vacuum inlet, then releasing the diaphragm, the EGR shouldn't move.

Another thing I did, was really spray down the IAC motor and passages with TB Cleaner, although, it wasn't that dirty.

Thanks, you just answered my question. Everyone liked how tight my EGR was, but I noticed it didn't hold vacuum when I did that test with my finger over the hole! They said leave it.

Didn't mean to through your post off track about how great your car ran. I've noted before, that's a great GTA you got!

Hey, no need to apologize... I like to help out whenever I can. Who told you not to worry about the EGR valve not holding vaccuum?

Well, I noticed the thing was real stiff so I figured it was stiffer than my finger's holding pressure (or stiff enough to expand back out despite me holding the hole shut). I think I talked myself out of it each time because I was getting so close. Anyhow, no biggie.. Another one on order.

Sounds good.... I hope it fixes the problem.... I know people have done a lot of different things to solve the problem and came out empty handed. I may have lucked out somehow.... unless its not hot enough out yet to make it hard to start..

One more thing I am going to check since mine has that 9th cold start injector.. There is a cold start injector temp sensor in the front of the intake. I am going to measure the ohms when cold and when hot and make sure that thing isn't trying to fire that injector when hot.. Humm.

good plan..... if mine still does it when it gets hot and humid here, That will be the next thing I check.

It's not really a sensor though, it is a switch, so i think it will either read very low resistance, or high resitance
