Does anybody here know where I can possibly find a GM service manual for a '91 Firebird Trans Am? Or maybe even perhaps a replica? I have the Haynes manual, and this is a real POS. It's near useless. I've seen a manual for an '89 Camaro and it looked like it was as thick as two of my college Chemistry textbooks placed one on top of the other!! Now that's a service manual. If anyone has any idea where I can get my hands on any of these, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Hey Fred,
If you want the real deal and are willing to pay the price, Helm Inc. (http://www.helminc.com) has the official GM service manual for the '91 Firebird. You can get one direct from them for $90.00, but you might also have some luck finding the book cheaper at an auction site or somesuch.
I know those Haynes manuals are pretty worthless; I got one for my '79 Trans Am and the thing was so general (covered the entire 2nd generation) that it was not much help at all. For some reason Helm doesn't carry the '79 Firebird service manual anymore (or there never even was one), so I'm up a creek. :(

Fred, watch eBay and other auction sites. I bought my 1988 Firebird manual in pristine shape for $25.00. But Helm, Inc. is always a last resort.
BJ, the last 2ndGen Firebird service manual was the 1978 edition.... the 1979, 1980, and 1981 editions are all supplements to the full-size '78 book.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna start hunting for this manual right away. And for Pete's sake NEVER BUY HAYNES!!! The only thing that book's good for is as one of those books i stick under my dorm room desk leg to keep it level and stable.
