Hey all!

I only recently found the GTA Source Page, but it's already become one of my favorite stops on the Web. I decided to get a message board account because I will start GTA-hunting in about 60-80 days -- I'm about to launch into a big freelance project which will pay enough for me to go shopping for the car of my dreams, a GTA. :BG:

Just wanted to come in ahead of time and introduce myself to you all. My name is Brian, I live in south Florida and I already own one T/A, a black '98 Ram Air w/6-speed. It's a fantastically fun car and I'd never get rid of it, but since I grew up in the '80s I've always loved something about those third gens like no other car on earth. Their lines are pure artwork. They are the "classics" for my era and I've always wanted one, but of course since I was only a kid when the GTA debuted I didn't have much of a choice. Now it looks like I'm going to get my chance!

A big thanks to the webmaster and moderator for providing this site for fellow enthusiasts. It's a great place to be. And BTW, if anyone here is thinking of gearing up to sell a GTA in 2 or 3 months, you've got one potential buyer already. :) In the meantime, I plan to soak up some knowledge in the Tech section.

Thanks from a fellow GTA fanatic,

-B.J.

Hey underdave,

Cool -- another guy in search of a GTA. Many years ago I read that it would be a lonnnng time before the 3rd-gen 'Birds would be collectible; that time has come sooner than I anticipated.

Any competition you get from me probably won't be too strong, since I most likely won't be able to travel too far to pick up a car, thus limiting my options somewhat. Of course, the availability of the "perfect" GTA could force me to make an exception. :p

Good luck with your search when the time comes!

Welcome aboard future GTA owner! I am glad that you liking the GTA (third generation) Pontiac product. Because I too love body lines of this car more than I do the new ones. I don't think you will have too badly of time finding GTA because this site have soooo many GTA for sale. I guess only thing to thinking about is price and location in your area. I am fortunate enough to have purchase my 87' GTA when it new back in summer of 87' (late summer). I was just graduate high school and college student new in America back then. I shopping for nice car (sports car) when I see GTA. Without hesitation, it was love at first sight for me and GTA! I almost get Supra back then but I didn't because dealer would not give me good deal. However, Pontiac dealer give me better deal. It all history after that. To this day, I am so glad that I didn't get Supra, the love I thought I had for that car was simply infatuation! Yumiko.

Thanks everybody!

Yumiko, I've read some of your older threads and I really love your story. Original owner of your your GTA! That's extremely cool. I ordered my '98 WS6 from the factory and I know what the feeling is like to pick up a beautiful car that you know you plan to keep forever. Yours is a great story and I'm glad there are other 3rd gen F-body fans out there who are so passionate about their cars and about driving them. Even my dad can't understand why I like the 3rd gens, and he has been a Trans Am freak since 1976.

Thanks again for the welcome and I hope to learn quite a lot while I'm here. :)
