Flame Met. Red ???????

Hello guys, i may have a really stupid question, but i'm not an expert on the GTA like many of you. So, i was wondering if anyone knows if the 88',89' Flame Metallic Red paint is different from the one in 91' & 92' ? Or, is it still called Flame Red in the 91-92 yrs. I ask because i've seen some photos that seem to have a more purple/pearl type hugh to it. The one i remember was rusty/orange type maroon color. The newer yrs. seem to not match. But, i don't have an 88'-89' car to compare to. I'm in the process of getting my GTA ready to paint, and the Flame Red is the color i want to use, but if they are different from year to year, i would like to know, before a mistake on my part is made. I had a 91 Camaro with the color your talking about and they called it dark cherry metallic. I seen one dealer call it brown. The best way to tell for sure is to find the paint code of the year you want to use. According to the RPO data on the front page of the site code 74U is flame red metallic in 88 and 75U is called brilliant red metallic for 91-92.

The paint/body shop will be able to help you with this. They have a color chart book with every code next to a paint chip. You can have them show you the diference between the years. They can also help you find the code on your console sticker.
