Here are the official numbers on Trans Am GTA production during its five-year product life cycle. They are broken down according to each model year of car. These are the production figures for U.S. cars only, but I have been told by Pontiac that only a handful of cars at most were produced for export sale, so they are regarding these figures as official. Since these numbers were, in fact, taken from PMD's own figures, if they are good enough for them, then they are good enough for me.

Regrettably, these codes are bunched by the total number installed on the cars each year, so it is not possible to decipher combinations (i.e. LB9 5.0L with CC1 Hatch Roof) as such. You would need the invoice or build sheet of each car produced to be able to accomplish that. However, these numbers do give some idea as to what was produced, if you do a little bit of figuring on your own........... Also, as you look through each year's figures, you will note that there were some options that saw very few installations; these codes are highlighted in gold . Be sure to check and see if YOUR GTA has any of these rare options on it.............

If you have a code that you do not see listed, then it is not a mechanical code, but refers to some kind of internal communication, buyer rebate or allowance, or special usage (state, federal, etc.). I only obtained all of the codes that pertain to option usage and production. If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks, Frank.
